measuring instruments purchased by import in single copies or in small lots.

This standard establishes general requirements for the organization and procedure for metrological certification of measuring instruments *, as a kind of state metrological supervision and departmental control.

* It is allowed to use the conditional generalized name - "non-standardized measuring instruments" in relation to the measuring instruments listed above.

In accordance with this standard, it is allowed to carry out metrological certification of single copies of measuring instruments of serial production, the stability of the metrological characteristics of which makes it possible to establish individual metrological characteristics for them.

On the basis of this standard, enterprises (organizations), if necessary, establish in the regulatory and technical documents the procedure for carrying out metrological certification of measuring instruments, taking into account their specifics.

The terms used in the standard and their explanations are given in Appendix 1.

In cases where territorial authority USSR State Standard cannot perform metrological certification of measuring instruments, it is necessary to apply to metrological NGOs (NII) of the USSR State Standard for specialization.

In other cases, when, within the framework of the existing specialization, it is not possible to attribute the measuring instrument to the scope of activity of any metrological NGO (NII) of the USSR State Standard, an application for metrological certification is sent to the USSR State Standard.

1.5. Planning of work on metrological certification of measuring instruments subject to metrological certification by departmental metrological services in accordance with clause 2.3 is carried out in the manner established by the relevant organizations (enterprises).

1.6. Metrological certification of imported measuring instruments is carried out by the state or departmental metrological services determined by the State Standard of the USSR in the process of coordinating applications for the purchase of measuring instruments for import.

1.7. Measuring instruments that have passed metrological certification are subject to verification during operation, storage and after repair in accordance with the methodology specified in the metrological certification certificate. Measuring instruments are subject to repeated metrological certification, the design or conditions of use of which have been changed, exemplary measuring instruments and verification installations if a change in discharge is necessary, as well as measuring instruments for which it is required to change the normalized metrological characteristics.
