The famous Canton Fair - also called the China Export and Import Fair - is China's largest exhibition of goods of all kinds, from souvenirs to cars and equipment. In the world it bears the title of “barometer of international Chinese trade”, and it is not surprising - after all, here you can get acquainted with the properties and purchase almost any product made in China. This legendary event has been held since the spring of 1957 in the southern Chinese province of Guangdong, namely in the city of Guangzhou.

Canton Fair Guangzhou 2020

The Canton Exhibition is organized twice a year - once in the spring and once in the fall. The venue is always the largest exhibition center in Asia, Pazhou, which ranks third in size among the world's centers. Every year, during both fair sessions, more than 150 thousand varieties of goods for various purposes are put on public display.

The organizer of this large-scale event is the Center Foreign trade of China, led by the Regional People's Government and the Ministry of Commerce. Such support from the authorities is not accidental - after all, over its long existence, the fair has gained global significance, attracted a maximum of participating buyers from all over the world and has won respect in the global consumer market.

Initially, the fair in Guangzhou was organized with the goal of revealing the potential of Chinese entrepreneurs to foreign consumers. Today, these goals have been achieved: over 24 thousand foreign and domestic enterprises are interested in the activities of the exhibition organizers, and the number of independent buyers from abroad has exceeded 200 thousand. In addition, in recent years, the very form of the event has undergone significant changes, becoming more modern. Specialized areas emerged, trade was systematized, and the opportunity arose for open negotiations between participants and future partners and promotion of the product on the world stage.

Time and stages of the Canton Exhibition

The 2020 Guangzhou Canton Fair will be held in stages, like the previous 126 fairs. This division of the total time of the event is organized in order to create maximum convenience for participants and buyers. Gigantic scale retail space(1.18 million sq. m.) do not allow you to visit all the pavilions with presented goods for a short time. To avoid wasting time, and also due to the huge number of visitors, spring and autumn fair are divided into three time stages.

Each stage takes five days, during which participants present products belonging to a specific category. This is also a kind of convenience for visitors and local buyers: the fair schedule allows you to plan your visit schedule and determine in advance which phase you should devote more time and money to.

How to get to the exhibition:

By free bus: During the exhibition, most large hotels organize free buses to and from the exhibition complex; before booking a hotel, check in advance whether they provide such a service.
Metro: 8 metro line, station XingGang Dong station(zone A) and Pazhou Station(zones B and C of the exhibition complex).
By taxi: You need to show the taxi driver the address in Chinese: 海珠区阅江中路380号琶洲国际会展中心, you will be taken to the Pazhou Exhibition Center, where the exhibition is taking place.
Approximate cost of a taxi to the exhibition: from the city center: 25 yuan, from the east station - 30 yuan, from the central station: 50 yuan, from the airport: 150 yuan.

Canton Exhibition Registration:

To participate in the exhibition, you must obtain a pass called "Entry Badge". You can get it in three ways:

Pre-register on the Canton Fair website using the following link. During registration you will need to attach your photo to in electronic format, a copy of your passport and a copy of your business card, after which your application will be sent for consideration (on average it takes 3 business days). Upon completion of registration, you will be sent an invitation, which you will need to print and present when registering directly at the exhibition.
Pre-registration will give you the opportunity to receive a free pass.
You can get a pass without prior registration and register directly at the exhibition complex. In this case, you will need to pay 100 yuan for the badge.
We can send you an official invitation to the exhibition, with which you can receive a free badge and other privileges. To do this, you need to share a link to the article on social networks and send us your first and last name in English (as in your passport) and a valid email for the invitation.

What documents are required for registration:
- Valid foreign passport.
- Photo (sizes are not important). If you don't have a photo with you, you can take a photo on site for 30 yuan.
- Business card (Optional).

Before the exhibition, we advise you to prepare business cards in English, you will have to distribute a lot of them, in exchange for catalogs, price lists, etc. If you want to protect yourself from spam, make business cards with a disposable mailbox.
What do you need to obtain a pass to the exhibition? To design a badge, take a 3x4 photo or any other size with you. If you don't have them, you can make them on the spot, but you will have to wait in line and pay 30 yuan. You also need to have one with you business card and passport.
Register for the exhibition in advance via online pre-registration (you can register using this link) and you can save 150 yuan and get a skip-the-line pass at the Shangri-la Hotel, which is located directly opposite the exhibition pavilion.
There's no need to queue for hours for a taxi or bus - exit the complex through Gate 7 or 8, cross the road and you'll see a tourist tram stop that runs along the embankment to Canton Tower, where you can change to a taxi or metro. Using this tram, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the city, get to the club and restaurant area (party pier stop), visit the Canton TV Tower - all this pleasure - 2 yuan and a complete absence of queues.
