How to choose the right shoes

No wonder Marilyn Monroe half a century ago said: “Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the whole world”; who, if not she, knew how to make the world fall at her feet.

We, modern girls, may not set ourselves the goal of conquering the Universe, but we have certain dreams in this life, which we want to walk towards with a fast and confident gait, so we definitely cannot do without a pair of the right shoes. Needless to say, no matter how perfect a set you pick up, it will not turn into an image, but will remain only a set of things if the shoes are not chosen correctly.

Shoes are not only a matter of style and aesthetics, but also proportions that you yourself create by choosing one or another pair. Long slender legs are the effect of properly selected shoes, the nuances of which I would like to talk about in this post.

Color is one of the most important criteria for choosing shoes. If you are tall and slender long legs, you are given complete freedom to choose colors: shoes can be bright and act as an accent or complement one of the colors present in the set - it all depends on your style and mood.

If you, like most girls of medium or short stature, dream of long, slender legs, then classic flesh-colored pumps will come to your aid. Please note that skin tones come in many shades and it is important to choose one that is as close as possible to your own skin tone.

If you have a cool undertone and snow-white skin, pumps in a warm peach shade will look more than strange on your feet. Similarly, if you have dark skin, then a light pinkish skin tone will contrast too much with your natural skin.

Carefully choose the “nude” shade and, if necessary, take a look at it in daylight, not electric light. The beauty of flesh-colored pumps is that due to the lack of contrast between the color of the shoes and your skin tone, the legs visually lengthen and therefore look slimmer, so the more accurately you choose the shade, the more noticeable the positive visual effect from it.

Without a doubt, patent leather is the most successful material for such a model, although shoes made of matte leather or suede will also visually lengthen the legs.

In addition to flesh color, shoes of any pastel shade can be considered a universal option in the warm season: pale pink, pale blue, pastel yellow, lilac, etc.

Due to the muted shade, such shoes do not attract undue attention to themselves and are combined with almost any color palette. The paler the shade, the more flattering your legs will look in it and the easier it will be for you to combine it with the color of your clothes.

For lovers of more extravagant shoes, I recommend getting shoes or sandals in metallic colors: gold, silver, copper (if you have a naturally warm skin tone), rose gold, etc.

These shoes not only pair easily with most colors, but also create an extra accent to the set. Thanks to the reflective properties of metallic shades, the legs in such shoes also appear slimmer and longer.

How to combine the color of shoes with the color of clothes? It all depends on the effect you want to achieve.

Shoes can be an accent, complement the set, or have an absolutely neutral character. If you don't know what color shoes will go with your outfit, feel free to wear flesh-colored pumps - these are the only shoes that go with any color, style and fabric without exception.

If your outfit is monochromatic enough, then shoes can be the very accent that will add zest to your look. For example, a solid gray dress can be worn with yellow pumps, and a black suit with bright blue ones.

Don't be afraid to complement colored shoes with colored accessories, the main thing is that both have the same level of contrast - bright shoes are combined with bright accessories, shoes in muted and pastel shades with the corresponding tones of accessories.

Shoes can also become a continuation of your outfit, in which case it is enough to choose the shade of the shoes that is as close as possible to the shade of the shoes. It can be like different tones of the same color, such as dark and light shades of blue, red, green, etc., or similar colors - blue and green, red and pink, yellow and orange.

The shape of the toe is perhaps one of the main criteria for choosing shoes.

Of course, fashion changes every season: today shoes with a blunt “nose” are in fashion, and tomorrow pointed stilettos. However, it should be borne in mind that shoes with a square and round toe part visually shorten the leg, and with a pointed and elongated toe shape, it lengthens it.

It is not recommended to wear shoes with a blunt toe for girls of short stature, and for those who cannot sacrifice a single millimeter of the length of their legs.
The shape of the toe piece should also be in harmony with your own. It is better for girls of a large physique to avoid too sharp-toed stilettos, and opt for boats with a smooth, slightly rounded, but elongated toe.

If you have rather angular shapes, then pointed shoes will suit you. Shoes with a blunt square or rectangular toe not only shorten the length, but also distort the shape of the legs, so girls with model data can afford such models: thin, angular, with straight and long legs.

The width of the heel should also be proportional to your size. Large girls look more harmonious in shoes with steady heels than in thin stilettos; girls, slender and thin, look great in shoes with elegant heels.

Pear-shaped girls and owners of voluminous calves should avoid too thin hairpins, against which your legs will look even more heavy.

The cutout on the shoes should repeat the shape of the foot. If you have a very feminine hourglass or pear shape, your feet most likely also have very smooth and feminine curves that will be accentuated by round neck tees.

For girls with an athletic and angular body structure, models with a more geometric and sharp neckline are suitable. This factor also affects how comfortable you will feel in a particular shoe.

Well, the last nuance that should be considered when choosing shoes is the height of the heel.

The height of the heel is not only a matter of comfort, but also of its appropriateness in a given situation. Everything has its time and place. Diamonds are as indecent to wear in daylight as are high heels.

Speaking of work dress code, the office version does not allow shoes with heels higher than 6 cm.

This dress code is an elementary rule of etiquette that has nothing to do with fashion or personal preferences. If you consider yourself an educated and well-mannered girl, follow the elementary rules of etiquette.

If you have a taffeta evening dress hanging in your closet that you are extremely fond of, this is not a reason to wear it to a meeting with your boss in the middle of the working day. For the same reason, I advise you to save your evening shoes with dizzying stiletto heels for a more appropriate situation.

As for proportions, the only ones who are not recommended to wear very high heels are pear-shaped and short girls.

In the first case, any heel higher than 10 cm will create tension in the quadriceps and buttocks, due to which the hips will appear even more heavy.

In the case of petite girls, a heel above 10 cm will create dissonance with their own proportions, due to which you can achieve the opposite effect - make short stature more obvious.

Choose shoes wisely, taking into account all the above nuances, and then they will not only become a fashionable investment, but will also allow you to step only forward, gracefully, confidently, with your head held high.
