How to open a private English language school. How to open a foreign language school. Business plan for a foreign language school: equipment for the school and start-up costs

On this moment The discussion of the new law on education, which affected all levels of the educational system without exception, became very widespread. These include changes in the names of educational institutions and the approach of teachers to the process of transferring their own knowledge to students.

For example, preparation for the Unified State Exam will now proceed a little differently, because now each graduate will be able to prepare for specific packages of tasks that are already publicly available to everyone. In most cases, in school curriculum not enough time is allocated, so students must ensure that they somehow acquire the necessary skills and knowledge.
An option could be a lesson with a tutor or attending a course or a special language school. Currently, English, Italian or any other foreign language schools are very popular. This is understandable, because if children can cope with all other subjects with the help of their parents, then with teaching and explanation of the nuances in English Not everyone can cope. This requires at least attending courses or language practice.

So, if you are an expert in the field foreign languages and want to start your own business, then opening a foreign language school is a profitable business. But it is not enough just to be a good linguist. You need a clear and specific business plan with which you can open a school of one or another foreign language.

Business plan for opening a foreign language school

Most often, people (both children and adults) seek help in the field of English, so your business plan should include a paragraph regarding why you decided to teach this foreign language. Several factors may be in favor of one language or another, and much will depend on the city in which you intend to open a school (don’t forget to include this point in your business plan). So, if in a locality with a small number of residents the demand for these services is not very high (and, most likely, these will only be schoolchildren learning English), accordingly, there will be practically no demand for other foreign languages.

In a large city, you can not only open a school where it is convenient for you, but also acquire many more clients.

To open a school to study a particular foreign language, you will need to register as an individual entrepreneur. This type of registration implies mandatory licensing. A pleasant factor of this event will be that currently the license will not need to be renewed every 5 years, as was the case before.

Now, having once received a license to conduct educational activities, this will be enough for you to continue doing it for the rest of your life. This point is necessary so that you can subsequently hire workers for your foreign language school. This point is one of the main ones in a document such as a business plan, because in the future you will also have to choose the organizational and legal form of your business. If you plan to work only independently, without hiring employees, then a license is not required. Moreover, for registration as an individual entrepreneur you will pay only 1,500 rubles.

In addition to everything, you must submit an application for registration with the tax service, as well as register with a state or non-state Pension Fund Russia.

Selection of premises and equipment

An important factor in the success of your institution will be the location in which the foreign language school will be located. In a city with a high population density, there should not be any particular problems finding a good place to open a foreign language school. You should try to do this near large shopping centers (but not in residential areas), close to educational institutions various levels (both preschool and higher educational institutions). As for small settlements, then you should open a foreign language school in the very center, and also do not forget to make sure that advertising about your institution is located in places with the largest concentration of people (at the train station, again next to schools, kindergartens, colleges, and so on).

To get started in this business (if the business plan does not involve significant investments), the equipment that you used as a student will be sufficient. If you conduct classes alone and with a small number of students, then for starters you can purchase a basic set of furniture (chairs, tables) and methodological manuals: textbooks, workbooks, audio and video materials. At first, 1-2 laptops will be quite useful as equipment. In the future, as the business expands (this will also need to be included in the business plan), it will be possible to purchase more advanced teaching aids and, accordingly, purchase new equipment.

Market analysis

Of course, a person wants to receive his knowledge from a teacher who knows his business well. If you are fluent in a foreign language, or even several, try opening your own school.

In order not to “burn out” or be “crushed” by already existing large schools, even at the stage of writing a business plan, try to come up with something of your own, so that people will be interested. This could be your own program or someone else's foreign program, which for some reason is not yet used by us.

To begin with, try working with students using your own or any other method, visiting them at home, or giving foreign language lessons at home. As soon as you feel that everything is working out for you, your students understand and thank you, then it makes sense to start expanding your business. You can open a foreign language school in your city, where not only private clients, but also entire groups will come.

Another option is to open a school as a franchise. There are pros and cons of a franchise: you will receive a business plan and program that you do not need to develop yourself, however, working under a franchise has special working conditions (part of the proceeds will go to the owners). Initial payment - from 300,000, investments - 1 million, royalties - 7% of your school's turnover, payback period - from six months. It is believed that a franchise has about a 70% greater chance of staying afloat than a start-up school. If you're happy with it, you can try it. And we will then independently prepare a business plan for beginners.

Legal side of the issue

To open a foreign language school, you will need a number of documents. To open an educational, private school, you will need to register an ANO (Autonomous non-profit organization) or NOU (Non-state educational institution), as well as obtain a license to carry out teaching activities. After this, you can register yourself as an individual entrepreneur ( individual entrepreneur).

Plus an inspection from the SES, since we are planning to open an official school. This will take about 50,000. Don't forget about taxes - 6%.

Choosing a suitable school premises

The school should be located in the city center, or at least where there is a lot of traffic in the city, high street traffic.

To get started, it is enough to rent an office space with an area of 50 m² or more. Indicate in the business plan the costs of renting premises - from 30,000 rubles (Moscow - 60,000).

Usually repairs in office premises is not required, but you will need to “finish” it for the school: a blackboard, a world map in a foreign language, educational posters, frames with certificates, licenses, etc. It is reasonable to purchase a projector and other personal equipment so that, for example, you can watch educational films on foreign language. Prepare 80,000 for the second point.

In addition, you can rent a room for lessons for several hours. This is a completely reasonable option that allows you to save significant money. Many training and business centers provide such services at affordable prices. What is important here is the location (center, proximity to the metro), cost, the possibility of organizing coffee breaks, and the availability of teaching equipment.

Educational materials

For business you will need to purchase textbooks, methodological notebooks, books, stationery, discs, cassettes.

Textbooks, as a rule, are purchased from you by students, but the school will have to make bulk purchases. Every month for the second item you may need from 10,000.

Teachers for a foreign language school

Hire teachers yourself, after a preliminary interview. Each of them will be the “face” of your school. Subsequently, you can create programs together based on student opinions or learning outcomes. For different categories of people (schoolchildren, students, working class, elite class, etc.) their own program must be developed; different people using the same program, it will not be effective.

The average salary of a teacher is 20,000 (Moscow - from 35,000). If you teach yourself, you will save a lot of money, besides, you will constantly maintain your level and know for sure what the school students need.

If there are at least 2 groups per day of 6 people, then it is advisable to take 4 teachers, including yourself. These costs are about 60-110,000 rubles per month.

Cost of education

In different cities, the cost of an hour of training with a teacher varies greatly - from 300 to 2,500 per hour. Let's take the average figure of 400 rubles per hour, since you have groups, not private lessons. Although, of course, you can take on individual students, increasing the cost accordingly.

Let's say there are 2 groups of 6 students every day, plus individual lessons 2 times a week. The business plan will include turnover data - from 150 to 400,000 a month, depending on the city.

Plus, there are corporate orders that will bring very good income. We can say that the school will pay for itself with good PR in the first months of operation.

Searching for clients, advertising courses

Website - from 25,000 rubles. Banners - from 20,000. Monthly advertising costs - from 20,000 and above.

Start-up capital and business payback

  1. initial capital - 300,000;
  2. monthly expenses - 150,000;
  3. monthly income - from 200,000 minus tax from 6% - 185,000.

Payback - from six months.

Net profit in subsequent months of work is from 100 thousand rubles.

Roman Agarkov specially for Intellectis

Language schools provide a full range of services for studying not only the most popular languages, but also rare languages for different levels of student preparedness. By completing basic training courses, students can move on to the next, more complex stages. At first glance, competition in this industry is high. However, as practice shows, a new school can, if positioned correctly, quickly attract regular customers.

The initial investment amount is 870 320 rubles

Break-even point is reached on the fourth month of work.

The payback period is from 11 months.

2. Description of the business, product or service

Before opening a foreign language school, you need to decide whether you will issue students with documents confirming completion of a particular course at your school. If you decide to carry out individual teaching activities, then you will not need a license, but in this case you will not be able to issue documents to students state standard about completion of training. This option is simpler in terms of registering a company and is suitable for training adults, for whom it is not the papers proving the receipt of education that are important, but the real level of knowledge. If you want to issue documents confirming the qualifications of graduates, you will need to obtain a license from the local department of the Ministry of Education. With this type of organization, the client, upon completion of training, can receive a certificate or certificate of additional education.

The target audience of language schools depends on the focus of your school. If you are ready to provide services like children preschool age, and active retirees, then the age of your clients will vary from 3 to 60 years. Since the services of language schools are not cheap, visitors, as a rule, have an average or above average income.

Before opening an English or other language school, you should decide what languages will be taught, as well as what the audience of the courses will be - adults or children. The most popular language is English, followed by German and French, followed by Italian and Spanish. If possible, courses should be organized in rarer languages - Chinese, Japanese or another exotic language. In certain cases, they are very popular and will become a feature of your project that distinguishes you from the rest.

The main areas of study at your school may include:

  • preparation for international testing;
  • testing using TOEFL, CALE, GMAT, IELTS systems;
  • express training in fluency in spoken language.

The average duration of a foreign language course is 4-8 months, which corresponds to 64-128 academic hours. After completing the course, students take a test and receive a document indicating that they have acquired a certain amount of knowledge. Group enrollment is carried out 2-3 times a month in English and 1-2 times a month in other languages. The main flow of students occurs in evening groups (from 17:00-21:00), the lowest attendance is observed during the day, since at this time many are at work or study. Each group of students consists of 4-6 people. It is important that the number of students is even, since during the learning process you often have to work in pairs to obtain greater results. An example of group placement and a language school schedule on a weekday with two classes is as follows:

Time

Class A

Class B

English

English

French

Spanish

It is expected that groups will be recruited in the following formats:

  • evening groups;
  • morning groups;
  • day groups;
  • weekend groups.

This business is seasonal: as a rule, the flow of visitors decreases in the summer months, but resumes in September. Opening hours of language schools: daily from 08:00 to 21:00, as there is a need to gather both morning and evening groups.

Introduction

In the context of the constantly changing financial market conditions, the most responsible part of managing a company is planning, during which its policy is developed, starting from the emergence of a fundamental idea and up to its implementation in plans for specific activities and quantitative (digital) indicators.

Planning the activities of any enterprise involves studying the financial and economic results of activities, identifying factors, trends and proportions of economic processes, and main directions of development.

Planning allows you to foresee the development prospects of an enterprise for the future, use all resources more rationally, avoid possible risks as a result of financial and economic activities, timely introduce new types of products, works and services, improve their quality of provision in accordance with market conditions, ensure profitability of activities and consistent increase in capital.

In other words, planning provides an understanding of the goal, the invariance of ways to achieve it depending on certain parameters that determine the external environment. Planning allows you to interconnect all aspects of the bank’s activities through summary indicators, connect the results with the interests of the team through a system of material and other types of labor incentives.

In each organization, the practice of developing and making decisions has its own characteristics, determined by the nature and specifics of its activities, the organizational structure, and the current communications system. However, there are common characteristics the process of planning activities, wherever it is carried out. This is the single core that forms the technology for developing and adopting a plan used by any credit institution.

A business plan is a document that defines the goals of activities in the field of business and management and outlines ways and means of achieving goals based on an analysis of all the problems that arise. Developing a business plan in many ways allows you to determine the potential of the bank, set new goals and objectives, develop the most rational management decisions, coordinate the actions of departments, identify the strengths and weaknesses of personnel and the entire credit organization. The business plan reflects the results of research in the fields of finance, management and marketing.

All of the above confirms the relevance of the topic of our work.

The purpose of this work is to develop a business plan for a new enterprise - a language school. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to solve the following tasks:

Reveal the content of the business idea;

Carry out planning of the activities of the created enterprise;

Calculate the main economic indicators for the newly opened enterprise;

Justify the economic efficiency of creating an enterprise.

Summary

As part of the presented business plan, it is planned to create an enterprise – the language school “Salut!” Organizational and legal form of ownership – Limited Liability Company.

Full name of the company: Limited Liability Company "Salut!"

Short name: LLC “Salut!”

The main activity of this company is the provision of educational services to the population of the city of Barnaul in terms of teaching foreign languages (English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, Czech, Chinese, Japanese, Korean).

Problem is that the current generation needs to learn foreign languages, since the current situation in the world requires knowledge of at least one foreign language, since many organizations require additional knowledge, which as a result are paid higher.

Children are taught the language from the first grade, but in order for the language not to be forgotten, it must be actively practiced. In addition, many people want to study abroad, but lack either the knowledge or information about the opportunities.

Also, the need to learn foreign languages arises when a person goes to a country without any knowledge at all. But in many countries there are no guides even in Russian.

Therefore, from all of the above, relevance is to obtain sufficient knowledge about the language for study, work, travel, as well as obtaining information for those wishing to study abroad, for practice, internship.

Educational services will be provided in the premises of the Prospect business center. For this purpose, it is planned (from 09 to 21 hours daily) to rent 2 offices. Classes at the school will be carried out daily in two classrooms. One classroom will be specialized for learning English, where classes will be held daily. The second classroom will host classes in other different languages by day of the week.

The cost of implementing the project is 191,760 rubles. rubles These funds are supposed to be borrowed from commercial bank for a year at 14% per annum.

The payback period for the project will be 10 days.
