When purchasing precious purchases, it is better to ask for a certificate of authenticity so as not to receive a fake. Beautiful and especially elegant products can be purchased from the manufacturer Yablonex. They are distinguished by their beauty and uniqueness. Amazing headdresses can be purchased from the Tonak company. They began to be produced back in the 14th century. Even the Queen of England places orders here. There is no need to bypass Czech cosmetics at natural basis.
Men's gifts. There are also quite a few ideas for such gifts. Both beer and its accessories are in demand, as are men’s cosmetics, also on a natural basis. Writing sets and smoking pipes are selling well.
Gifts for children. Prague is a real fabulous discovery for children, especially during the New Year holidays. One cannot fail to pay attention to the traditional Czech cat, which was drawn by the famous Miller. To fully appreciate the scale of the sales and determine for yourself whether it is profitable, you need to shop around the center for at least 3 days. Finding the shopping center itself is not so difficult; it is located at the end of the city. There are outlets that specialize in selling a certain type of product. For example, only women's or men's clothing, children's or sports.
Shopping centers in Prague. Although such places for sale began to appear in the Czech Republic not so long ago, the quality of service in them and the range of goods are no worse than in the shopping centers of the most developed countries peace.

Palladium. The most frequently visited shopping center in Prague. There are about 165 shops, 35 bars, cafes and restaurants on 5 floors. Eat office rooms. Markets are also suitable for shopping in Prague - this is not only an opportunity to save a little, it is a special atmosphere of the Czech Republic. The oldest of all Prague markets is Havel, which first received its customers in 1232. It got its name from the street of the same name. If at the dawn of its existence you could only buy fruits and vegetables at the market, today you can find everything here. Holešovice Market is no less popular. Located on Bubenskaya embankment. Everything is also available here and the prices are good, although the quality is not always ideal. Nearby you can also find a market with products from farmers: milk, vegetables and fruits, meat products.
Fairs for New Year and Christmas. If you have the opportunity to visit Prague during this period, you should not miss this moment. Such fairs begin to work at the end of November. The main festive atmosphere reigns in Wenceslas and Old Town Squares. Such fairs are open daily from 9 am to 7 pm.

Those who are thinking about shopping in Prague or another European capital should have an idea about the features of shopping in other countries. Germany is no longer famous for cheap goods and sales, but for the quality of things. Products can be purchased at low prices during the New Year holidays or during the summer sale. There are also goods here that are cheap, but they are mainly imported from China.

In Austria, the quality of goods is no different from the Czech one, although prices are much higher. More profitable purchases can be made in Vienna. It is not profitable to go shopping to Austria, unless only a tourist decides to combine shopping and visiting local natural and cultural attractions.

Either avid fashionistas or those who do not care how much they spend on purchases go to France to buy goods, since prices here cannot be called democratic. The main goal of a trip to France is to see the Eiffel Tower.

The same can be said about visiting Italy. Prices for goods here are much higher than in the Czech Republic, although in the capital and big cities there are more fashion boutiques with famous world brands. It is better to pay attention to tourist sites and modern design products for which Italy is famous.

VAT refund

Since 2010, almost all goods in the Czech Republic, as in other Schengen countries, began to be subject to a VAT tax of 21%. Anyone who makes purchases in the country from 2001 kroons (just under 78 euros) and is not officially a resident of the EU can return VAT on the purchased goods. To do this, when purchasing from the administrator or seller in the store, you need to take a special tax free form and do not forget to take the receipt for the purchase. At customs, upon presentation of the following documents, you can return up to 15% of the purchase. It is also necessary to take into account that the purchased goods will need to be shown to customs in an undamaged sealed form. If you want to return VAT before going through customs, you should not even tear off the label from the product. Return part of the money at special counters at the airports of Pardubice and Brno or already in Russia: at SMP Bank and Bank Intesa. Those traveling by land are stamped at the border of the country through which they are leaving the European Union (for example, through Poland). You can receive money either at partner counters (Global Blue or Premier Tax Free), or already in Russia.

If you want to return VAT, you need to take into account several rules:

The purchased product is for personal use only.
The quantity of goods must not exceed the volume that can be transported across the border.
Please note that according to the law, VAT cannot be refunded on goods such as food, tobacco and alcohol.
The most important condition is that the product must be purchased only in stores that participate in the So Free Shopping program.

If you are going to return VAT upon arrival in Russia, remember that you must contact the refund point no later than 6 months from the date of registration of the Tax Free form. Otherwise, your money will not be returned.

As of 2020, the official currency of the Czech Republic remains the Czech crown. You can exchange your currency for crowns both at home and in Prague. Those who are encountering the process of purchasing and exchanging currencies in Prague for the first time should pay attention to the fact that there is no 50-crown note. Scammers often take advantage of this, deceiving naive tourists who visited the country for the first time. You can check the rate either on the website or at local exchange offices.

It is better to change currency at special exchange offices or banks. It is also safe to change at hotel exchange offices. But this is not always beneficial for the client. You need to think about the benefits of the exchange before giving money to the cashier.

In order not to spoil your opinion of the Czech Republic as a tourist mecca, you should not change money from street currency traders. The main goal of most of them is to profit from tourists. If this happens and the tourist ends up with counterfeit money after the exchange, even in the bank, it is important to keep the receipt for the currency exchange. So there is a high chance that the money will be exchanged back.

In the presence of bank card kroons can be obtained from almost any ATM. Those wishing to exchange currency at banks should note that they are open from Monday to Friday. Opens at 9 am and closes at 2 pm.

The quantity and quality of products available in the Czech Republic have improved dramatically since the early 1990s. Unlike other European cities, shopping in Prague, did not develop for a long time. Communist department stores like Máj were slow to follow international trends. Shopping mall Slovansky Dum shopping center (4) includes boutiques, restaurants and cinemas. Opening hours: Mon. - Sat. 09:00-22:00; Sun. 09:00-21:00.

Palladium (5)- a multi-level shopping center with more than 200 stores. Benetton, Estée Lauder, Lush, Marks & Spencer, Body Shop, Tommy Hilfiger Sports, H&M and many more make it the largest shopping area in Prague.

U Old Town Square (6) there is a permanent market on one side selling applied arts, and gifts. There are also crystal shops and small shops on the streets leading to the square.

Parizska (7)- the most fashionable (and expensive) street in Prague. It houses boutiques of luxury brands such as Cartier and gourmet restaurants and cafes.

Street Karlova (8) filled day and night with tourists passing to and from the Charles Bridge. Along the route there are souvenir shops and glass goods stores.

The Myslbek shopping center opened in 1996 as one of the first shopping centers in Prague. It connects New town And Old city, stretching between the busy Na Příkopě street and the historic Ovocný trh (Fruit Market) behind the Estates Theater (Czech: Stavovské divadlo). Shopping center "PALLADIUM"

PALLADIUM - big center, located in the center of Prague, opposite the Municipal House (Obecní dům). The five-story building contains 170 shops, 30 restaurants and cafes. It's easy to get to public transport. For those who drive, there are 900 underground parking spaces. You will find, for example, the following shops and restaurants: au Gourmand, Benetton, C&A, dm drogerie markt, ECCO, H&M, L'Occitane, Marks & Spencer, Mothercare, Sparkys, Starbucks, and Villeroy & Boch.

Trading house "Vinohradský Pavilion"

The Vinohradský Pavilon shopping center was Prague's first shopping center. It is located on the site of the historic Vinohrady market, which dates back to 1902. The Thorne Center opened in 1994. It is somewhat inferior to its larger competitors in size and not very convenient location. The choice of stores is limited. There is a grocery store in the basement.

The Palác Flora shopping center is one of the larger ones. Opened in 2003, its four floors are filled with 120 shops, a food court and a cinema. Bright design with open center. You can go to the center directly from Flóra metro station (line A).

Shopping center Novy Smichov

Nový Smíchov Shopping Center is an elegant, modern shopping center and entertainment center at the same time, which is spread over three floors. It is located near the Anděl metro station (line B). There is a large electronics store Datart and a Tesco supermarket on the ground floor, Marks and Spencer, Idea Dekor (housewares); Botonland (music store); Gant, Guess, C&A and Zara (clothing) and the excellent Lebanese restaurant Safir in the food court, as well as 150 different shops, food court, bowling alley, children's play area, cinema (on the third floor). There is an underground parking lot.

Shopping center Arkady Pankrác

The modern center opened in 2008 with a wide selection of clothing stores, shoe stores and sportswear stores. A large Interspar supermarket, pharmacy, bookshop and food court make up the center good choice for shopping and entertainment.

Shopping center Metropole Zličín

Metropole Zličín is a large fashion and entertainment complex located on the outskirts of Prague. It includes a cinema, big store electronics Electro World. Although not in the city center, it is conveniently located right at the Zličín metro station, within about a 20-minute metro ride from the center. It is also easily accessible by car. A 24-hour Tesco supermarket is located near this shopping center (take the bus or drive, difficult to reach on foot).
