§ 184. Internal combustion engine operator (2nd category)

Characteristics of work. Maintenance of internal combustion engines of all systems with power up to 73.5 kW (up to 100 hp). Maintenance of installations (stations) equipped with several internal combustion engines of all systems with a total power of over 73.5 to 735 kW (over 100 to 1000 hp), as an assistant driver. Starting, stopping, regulating the operation of engines. Refueling engines, lubricating components and auxiliary mechanisms.

Must know: principle of operation of engines; rules for starting, stopping and servicing engines; engine lubrication, power supply and cooling scheme; purpose and rules for using simple and medium-complex instrumentation; types of fuels and lubricants; location of pipelines and fittings.

§ 185. Internal combustion engine operator (3rd category)

Characteristics of work. Maintenance of internal combustion engines of all systems with power over 73.5 to 147 kW (over 100 to 200 hp). Maintenance of installations (stations) equipped with several internal combustion engines of all systems with a total power of over 735 to 2205 kW (over 1000 to 3000 hp), as an assistant driver. Regulation of engine operation in connection with the technology of the serviced production facility or site.

Must know: arrangement of serviced engines; rules for servicing engines, generators, fuel pumps and auxiliary mechanisms; basic information on thermal engineering and electrical engineering; installation of simple and medium complexity instrumentation; rules for accounting for engine operation and consumption of fuels and lubricants.

§ 186. Internal combustion engine operator (4th category)

Characteristics of work. Maintenance of internal combustion engines of all systems with a power of over 147 to 551.2 kW (over 200 to 750 hp) or installations (stations) equipped with several engines with a total power of over 147 to 735 kW (over 200 to 1000 hp) . Maintenance of several internal combustion engines of all systems with a total power of over 2205 kW (over 300 hp) as an assistant driver. Monitoring the operation and serviceability of units, generators, fuel pumps and auxiliary mechanisms. Performance current repairs and participation in medium and major engine repairs. Opening, inspection, assembly and disassembly of engines during inspection.

Must know: engine design various types; installation of complex instrumentation; methods for monitoring the operation and serviceability of units, generators, fuel pumps and auxiliary mechanisms; rules for disassembling, inspection, assembly, inspection and repair of engines and auxiliary mechanisms.

§ 187. Internal combustion engine operator (5th category)

Maintenance of internal combustion engines of all systems with a power of over 551.2 kW (over 750 hp) or installations (stations) equipped with several engines with a total power of over 735 to 2205 kW (over 1000 to 3000 hp). Identification and elimination of malfunctions in the operation of engines and its individual components.

Must know: design, electrical and kinematic diagrams of serviced engines and auxiliary mechanisms; rules for setting up and regulating instrumentation; methods for identifying malfunctions in engine operation and ways to eliminate them.

§ 188. Internal combustion engine operator (6th category)

Characteristics of work. Maintenance of installations or stations equipped with several internal combustion engines of various systems, with a total power from 2205 to 2573 kW (from 3000 to 3500 hp). Participation in dismantling, installation and testing of engines.
