Business problem

The building's interiors, originally designed in the Luzhkov Empire style, did not correspond to current trends and moods of the new generation of tenants. Therefore, the owner of the business center wanted to change the design of public areas, making them more modern and memorable. At the same time, the task was set to carry out renovation in the shortest possible time and, if possible, without dismantling work.
Creative competition among architects held management company business center, the concept of the architectural bureau UNK project won.

Organization of space

To introduce more dynamics into the strict and symmetrical layout of the entrance area, the architects moved the reception desk. It was also decided to give part of the entrance area to the adjacent rented premises, separating it with a glass partition. This solution made it possible to visually preserve the volume of the entrance group.

The main innovation in the organization of space was the structural “cubes” placed along the flow of traffic of visitors to the business center. The cubes serve as navigation, waiting areas, and art objects are also displayed in them.

Design idea

The architects radically changed the appearance of the public areas of the business center under conditions of work and budget restrictions. Therefore, their main tools were light and color.

Color accents in the functional areas of the coffee shop and elevator hall created intuitive navigation and visually broke up the classic space.

Old chandeliers were replaced with designer lamps. One of them, a 39-meter-long “ribbon” lamp, also performs a navigation function: moving along it, visitors pass from the entrance to the reception, and then to the elevators. Light inserts were also added to the reception desk itself, “cubes” and other interior items. All this completely changed the perception of the room.

The image on the TV screens scattered along the walls of the hall not only carries an information load, but also adds dynamism to the interior.

It was the combination of all these techniques that helped radically change the “face” of the business center.

It was very interesting for us to work on this project with such plastic surgeons from architecture. The main condition of the customer was the minimum physical change public areas of the business center with maximum external manifestation of the renewal effect. To solve this problem, we used a method that we called “palazzo renovation.” When in Italy they place modern functions in the interiors of architectural monuments, they cannot do anything with the walls or ceilings - there are frescoes all around. You can only install new furniture and hang modern lamps. The Luzhkov Empire style is, of course, not a palazzo, but a similar approach worked successfully on our project. Now we are implementing the next project with the same customer and in the same way.
